No standard? We set one.
There is no mandatory material safety standard for dog toys in Australia. That leaves a lot of room for vague materials, low-grade plastics, and very little meaningful disclosure. Research has shown that some plastic dog toys and training devices can leach chemicals such as BPA and phthalates during use. The Sniff applies a stricter materials-first filter instead.
