Our Approach
When I started looking for enrichment tools for my own dog, I expected it to be straightforward.
It wasn’t.
There were endless options, a lot of plastic, and very little clear information about what was actually safe or useful, especially for puppies.
The Sniff grew out of that frustration.
A practical, informed approach
I’m not a vet or a dog trainer.
I’m a mum, a dog mum, and someone who genuinely cares about making better choices - for our dogs, our families, and the world they live in.
That means doing the research, asking questions, and being thoughtful about what we bring into our homes.
The Sniff takes a science-informed approach to dog enrichment, guided by research and behavioural principles - without hype or fear-based claims. The aim is simply to make better decisions easier.
Safety comes first
Materials matter.
We look closely at what products are made from, how they’re intended to be used, and where risks can arise - particularly for puppies. Where possible and appropriate, we prioritise safer materials and reduce unnecessary plastic.
If something doesn’t meet our standards, it doesn't pass the sniff test and it doesn’t make it in.
Fewer things, chosen well
Dogs don’t need lots of toys.
They need the right ones.
Rather than overwhelming owners with options, The Sniff focuses on a small selection of enrichment tools that genuinely serve a purpose, alongside simple guidance to help owners use them with confidence.
For dogs we love like family
The Sniff exists to make thoughtful choices feel more straightforward, and to offer a calmer place to start.
